I’ve been lazy

I wonder who still checks out this space.

Into my second week as a working adult & am still trying to get used to things. Like, being extremely happy to be able to knock off on the dot and go straight home for dinner after that,  feeling like a zombie after I end my day at work, sleeping way earlier than I used to in school. Begin to relish the free time I have very very much.

But, perks of working at Bugis: a lot of very yummy/cheap food around like KOI, Chewy Junior, Yakun etc, my favs! Learning curve is pretty steep but super thankful for very helpful colleagues and boss. Already scheduled to go for my first biz trip to Jakarta at the end of this month with bigger boss (this one a bit scary). I think I’m the youngest in my workplace (which has a few hundred people) and it does make me feel small sometimes, young/inexperienced and all.

It’s so easy to be preoccupied with self these days- striking off the to-dos that never seem to end, replying & filing those emails which also never seem to end, wanting that personal space and time which is so very precious. But I know I don’t want to end up being a working adult who drags myself to work daily, count down to the end of work every day, gripe about colleagues/bosses/morning peak hour woes/work stress all the time & merely exist without living.

God made me for so much more.

A working adult can be passionate about God & about serving even in the realities of work life. To have that selfless spirit towards people, one that is of love. Also to have that child-like faith, not forgetting the dreams that are born in youth.

I really need God so much more every day of my life. (still very far from the above)
